MyNetFone picks up PennyTel, iVoisys customers

Customers were in limbo following liquidation

MyNetFone has agreed to take on customers of PennyTel and iVoisys after the two companies entered into provisional liquidation.

PennyTel is a mobile reseller and iVoisys is a wholesale VoIP provider. The companies were forced into liquidation after the NSW Supreme Court reportedly found evidence they had received fraudulent payments from their parent company Hi-Tech Telecom, run by Amadu Yahaya. The court found that Yahaya had transferred $3.9 million to PennyTel and $1.2 million to iVoisys, according to CRN.

Today, MyNetFone said it reached an agreement with the court-appointed provisional liquidator, Rodgers Reidy Chartered Accountants, and PennyTel and iVoisys’s suppliers to ensure continuity of service to the companies’ mobile, VoIP, broadband and business customers.

“We are here to help,” said Rene Sugo, CEO of MyNetFone. “Our priority is continuity of service—ensuring there is no disruption to end-users is critical from our perspective.”

“Our team are confident that we can smooth out the experience for PennyTel and iVoisys customers, who have faced a lot of uncertainty in the past week.”

MyNetFone said it will first focus on ensuring services remain operational and then will look to integrate network and billing.
