The Australian Computer Emergency Response Team (AusCert) is in the process of surveying the country's top 300 companies to quantify computer crime concerns.
AusCert general manager Graham Ingram said the survey will mirror the joint CSI/FBI survey in the US which provides a global record of IT security attacks.
Ingram said the survey is being undertaken in conjunction with Deloitte and the NSW Police and results will be released at its first conference to be held in Queensland mid-year.
Details of the national survey were disclosed at a computer crime briefing held in Sydney today with Deacons Lawyers and security services provider 90East.
