Aldi mobile service suffers data outage

Problem now resolved says spokesperson

A fault that temporarily prevented Aldi Mobile some customers from using cellular data services has been resolved according to a spokesperson for the MVNO.

Earlier today the telco posted a notice in its website stating that its "carrier has identified the issue that caused the outage and is working aggressively to remedy this for all ALDImobile customers."

"This morning we experienced a technical issue which temporarily prevented some of our customers from being able to use their data for a period of time," an Aldi spokesperson said.

"We have been working hard since the issue was raised and this has now been resolved. We would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused by this outage.

"We thank you for your patience and understanding during this time."

Aldi Mobile services are sold exclusively through Aldi supermarkets; however, the service is operated by Medion.

The service operates on Telstra's 3G network. Previously Medion sourced services via ispONE but in the wake of the latter's collapse it struck a deal directly with Telstra Wholesale.

Aldi Mobile launched just over a year ago.
