UPDATED: ANZ Banking Group's goMoney app restored

Bank says technical issues began with the app on 24 March

ANZ Banking Group confirmed via social media that the goMoney app has been restored after the app was taken offline on 24 March due to technical issues.

The app allows customers to securely transfer funds between friends and businesses using their mobile phone details.

The bank tweeted last night that the app had been restored for most users and that it would "work to ensure that it's stable."

"Please use Internet banking for now if you still have problems," read the tweet.

An ANZ Banking Group spokesperson told Computerworld Australia yesterday that it needed to take goMoney offline on 24 March to fix some "intermittent technical issues" that were impacting customers' ability to access their accounts.

"Our team worked through the night to get it back up and running, however some customers are still experiencing delays logging on due to the large number of people trying to access goMoney," said the spokesperson.

"Our ATMs, EFTPOS terminals and branch systems are operational and we would like to encourage our customers to use these channels. Alternatively customers can use Internet banking or call us on 13 13 14."

"We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused," the spokesperson added.
