A hardware failure has resulted in an ADSL outage in Melbourne for Telstra customers.
“Since 2.15pm, a hardware failure at the Windsor Exchange has impacted a number of ADSL services across inner Melbourne and the south eastern suburbs,” a Telstra spokesman told Computerworld Australia.
“A technician is expected to arrive at the Windsor Exchange within the hour to replace the faulty hardware and restore services,” he said.
Telstra has apologised to customers and promised that the problem will be fixed within the hour.
The outage has occured the same afternoon that Vodafone and Optus are reporting outages of their own on their nationwide mobile networks.
There is no indication that any of the outages are related.
