The Victorian government is seeking public input on a digital strategy for the state. The state's technology minister, Gordon Rich-Phillips, this morning launched a website that allows Victorians to have their say on the strategy.

"We want to use the Digital Economy Strategy website and co-production approach to invite innovative and effective strategies for boosting Victoria's digital capability, capacity and skills," Rich-Phillips said in a statement.

"We are particularly interested in hearing how government can actively help to improve digital capabilities."

The government is seeking input on five themes: digital inclusion, productive and competitive SMEs, digital infrastructure, digital innovation and entrepreneurship, a skilled workforce, telecommuting, and leadership in government.

"We expect that these themes will expand and diversify as contributors suggest new ideas and ways of approaching the strategy," the minister said.

"We must develop our capacity to use digital technologies to drive productivity and innovation across our economy, enhance existing industries and generate new value-adding industries and jobs," the minister said.

The consultation runs until 30 July.

Queensland last week launched its digital strategy, titled GoDigitalQld Queensland Digital Economy Strategy and Action Plan.

In May, Victoria issued an ICT Strategy Update.
