The New South Wales government has invited community input on the 2014-15 implementation update of its ICT strategy.

NSW minister for finance and services, Dominic Perrottet, said the state government is seeking feedback from the public about open government, open data, infrastructure, managed services, ICT procurement reform and ICT investment.

“Over the past two years the implementation of the ICT Strategy has laid the groundwork for a transformation in the way we deliver services and improve efficiencies,” the minister said in a statement.

“Now it’s time for the next phase – accelerating to a truly digital government that is totally focused on the people we serve.

“Only this week we announced that Service NSW will be moving its contact centre operations to a cloud-based environment in a bid to enable a better response and reduce wait times for customers.”

Perrottet said it was important that NSW government policy and strategic direction stays “relevant” with new technologies and capabilities.

“Having transparent discussions with our stakeholders and the community ensures that we can continue to provide improved services and better value for NSW taxpayers.”

The 2013-14 implementation update pushed government agencies towards cloud solutions.

Feedback about the ICT strategy can be left at the NSW government’s Have Your Say website. The deadline for submissions is 24 August.
