Optus enterprise plans to evolve for NBN

Symmetrical or assymmetrical services available

Optus has lifted the curtain on its National Broadband Network plans for enterprise by announcing Optus Evolve voice and data services over the NBN.

Evolve, available now, is a suite of configurable, integrated voice and data services for enterprise. It includes IP-based Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Internet, direct line and voice services.

Optus Business customers can choose symmetrical or asymmetrical access depending on their budget and service requirements.

Symmetrical access provides high download and upload speeds, which are required for high-quality videoconferencing and other data-intensive services. Assymetrical access provides high download speeds only, which Optus said is best for customers that operate mainly Internet data or non-critical WAN traffic environments.

“We continue to see strong and increasing demand from our customers for enterprise-level NBN access that has the capability to deliver leading business solutions and applications,” said John Paitaridis, managing director of Optus Business.

“This new NBN access complements Optus’ already extensive national network access infrastructure across Australia and offers customers more choice and competitive options, especially in regional locations.”

Paitaridis predicted that broadband demand will continue to accelerate.

“Reliance on high speed broadband access is only going to grow, whether for direct customer interactions or real-time collaboration across geographies and organisations. Our customers can have full confidence in these transformative new networks, and we will continue to roll out products supported by this new access.”
