In brief: ACS hunts for new CEO after Patterson exits

CFO Kim Finch steps in as acting chief executive

The Australian Computer Society's chief financial officer, Kim Finch, will act as CEO for the organisation after the departure of Alan Patterson.

A statement released today by the ACS said Patterson had resigned from his position. The ACS will begin searching for a new CEO, the statement said.

Patterson joined the organisation in May 2011. Prior to taking up the ACS CEO position, he was CEO of the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA).

"I’m extremely proud of what we have achieved as a Society during the past three and a half years, and feel there is tremendous momentum around the brand," Patterson said in a statement issued today.

"We began implementing a new three year plan for the ACS in July 2014 and now that this is underway, it is time for someone else to pick up the gauntlet and lead the Society through its next phase

"It’s the natural conclusion to my work in establishing the ACS forward plans. I have enjoyed my time with the Society and I will remain a great supporter of the ACS."
