In brief: CrimTrac gets new CEO

NSW Police's Nicole Rose to take up role in April

CrimTrac, the federal agency that provides information sharing services for state and federal police, is getting a new CEO.

Federal justice minister Michael Keenan this morning announced the appointment of Nicole Rose to the role.

Rose, director of the NSW Police Commissioner's office, will in April replace the current CrimTrac CEO, Doug Smith.

Smith has been in the role since 2011.

"I congratulate Ms Rose on her appointment as CEO of CrimTrac," Keenan said in a statement.

"I am confident she will provide strong leadership in the important role of supporting Australia's police forces in their efforts in protecting the Australian community from crime."
