In brief: Government adds suppliers to cloud panel

Fifth tranche of additions to cloud services panel

The government has added another three suppliers to its cloud services panel.

Cloud Central, CSC and Informed Solutions have been added to the panel, boosting the panel to 75 suppliers.

It is the fifth tranche of suppliers to be added to the panel.

The panel has an initial two-year term, but could be extended by another four years.

The establishment of the whole-of-government panel follows the launch last year of an updated government cloud policy.

Government agencies are mandated to adopt cloud where it is "fit for purpose, provides adequate protection of data and delivers value for money" when obtaining new ICT services or replacing existing services.

The government's CTO, John Sheridan, said that further additions to the panel would be announced in coming weeks.
