Snap Franchising embarks on IT transformation

Project DNA will take five years to complete

Business printing firm Snap Franchising is replacing a 10-year-old management information system as part of a five-year IT transformation project called Project DNA.

This will replace the current system developed by Electronics For Imaging (EFI) with a cloud-based EFI PrintSmith Vision business platform. The workflow software contains tools to help Snap franchises manage and grow their business.

According to Snap Franchising CEO Stephen Edwards, the implementation of the technology at head office and within franchises will lead to a more streamlined company.

EFI was selected as a partner for the $10 million Project DNA which is designed to help Snap Franchising into the digital age. The first phase of the IT transformation will take 18 months.

The company also plans to use EFI software to assess real-time customer data in order to carry out trend analysis.

Snap Franchising IT project director Michael Cockerton said that it will use EFI technology to get greater visibility across trend reporting and bench marking.

“It’s about improved knowledge and information,” he said.

“We also want to become a more dynamic franchise management firm. We want to provide our franchisees and customers with improved processes and knowledge."

The second phase of the project will involve the rollout of a centralised network, online learning platforms, process mapping and upgrade of all backend infrastructure.
