Peter Bradd has been appointed StartupAUS’ first CEO.
Bradd is a founder ScribblePics and Fishburners, and a foundation member of the StartupAUS board.
“My goal as our first CEO is to increase progress within government, industry and the startup ecosystem,” the CEO said in a statement.
“There has been progress, however our shift into exponential growth is too far behind. We have the passion and the drive but we do need more founders, more tech-skills and a world-leading ecosystem to support them.”
The organisation today also announced that SyncLabs founder Andrew Larsen will join the organisation’s board and River City Labs founder Steve Baxter will leave the board to become StartupAUS’ ‘chief advocate’.
Earlier this year, StartupAUS released its second Crossroads report assessing the state of Australia's startup ecosystem.
The first Crossroads report was released in April last year.
Although there were some positive developments in the period between the two reports there were still shortcomings in the government’s approach startups, including the lack of a national innovation strategy.
