Microsoft restores Azure Sydney services

Cloud service recovers from network errors

Update: "Customers in Australia East may have experienced service interruptions and services are now fully restored," a Microsoft spokesperson said. "Visit the Microsoft Azure Service Health Dashboard for more information.”

Microsoft has reported that Azure Sydney’s network infrastructure is down and that customers with services hosted in east Australia may not be able to connect to the service.

“Engineers have identified [the] preliminary root cause and are preparing mitigation steps,” read an update on the Azure website.

A further update said it was making progress towards service recovery.

"Some improvement in service may be noted as mitigations take effect."

Microsoft's Azure Twitter account has also confirmed the outage.

Azure customers have taken to social media to complain about the problem.
