Optus Business will resell Cisco's 'data virtualization' offerings, the company announced today.
The data integration tools provide cross-organisation data integration, making it easier for businesses to conduct queries on data stored in separate locations. Business can construct a logical representation of data to query, instead of physically moving.
"We are excited by the compelling benefits this technology can offer our customers in Australia, which have been well demonstrated in the US market, particularly in the financial services industry," Jennie McLaughlin, Optus Business' head of business applications and solutions, said in a statement.
"Data virtualisation’s streamlined approach reduces complexity and saves money, due to the reduction of data replication and consolidation."
Optus Business said the offering would be integrated with its existing data analytics tools.
Cisco in 2013 acquired US company Composite Software for its data virtualization platform.
Earlier this year Optus also announced it had become a Cisco Intercloud provider.
In its Q1 results, Optus' enterprise business reported revenue of $388 million, including $141 million from ICT and managed services.
Overall, Optus reported an increase in operating revenue of 11 per cent to $2.30 billion for the quarter ending 30 June 2015.
