Former CIO Malcolm Freame moves into government services

The New South Wales Department of Finance, Services and Innovation (DFSI) is seeking a new group CIO to drive technology change and transformation.

Former CIO Malcolm Freame, who was in the role for five years, has moved into government services where he is responsible for vendor management.

“You will have a successful track record in a ‘C’ level / Head of ICT role with recent experience in large scale information and knowledge management frameworks, enterprise architecture, ERP consolidation and application of best-of-breed consumption and service delivery models,” states the advertisement for the role.

“A sound track record in fiscal management is required as you will be responsible for leading the organisation’s technology investment strategy and ensuring sound financial plans and controls relating to ICT expenditure are in place.”

Recruitment for the role is being handled by elev8.

The successful candidate will have leadership experience and the capacity to deliver outcomes at a project, business unit and enterprise level

They will also have the proven ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders during periods of complexity and change.

Line of business CIOs report to the role.

The total remuneration package for the role is between $252,858 and $284,186.

The closing date for applications is September 21, 2015.

Interviews are scheduled to take place over a week commencing 19 October.
