WA Public Trustee extends IT support contract

Unisys providing maintenance, enhancements for MATE application

The Western Australia Public Trustee has extended a long-running contract with Unisys for support, maintenance and enhancements for its Management Accounting Trust Environment (MATE) application.

The WA Public Trustee looks after the legal and financial affairs of people in the community including trust management services, deceased estate administration and power of attorney.

The vendor has worked with the organisation since 2001. MATE came out of a client information management system (CIMS) purchased from the Queensland Public Trustee. Unisys was engaged to modify and customise the CIMS to reflect the different working practices and legislation in WA.

Recent enhancements to MATE include the launch of the Give2Good community foundation which was established in November 2014. The foundation was designed to encourage Western Australians to `give to good’ causes knowing that their charitable gifts will be invested and distributed by a professional statutory authority.

According to WA Public Trustee director corporate support Terry Hearn, Unisys delivers a “highly reliable” client management system with the flexibility to implement new services.
