In brief: Datacom opens new Melbourne office

100 additional jobs to be created, IT services company says

Datacom Systems has opened a new office South Melbourne.

The IT services company estimates the new office will employ 100 additional staff over the next 12 months.

Datacom has a headcount of around 1500 at eight Australian locations.The new office is its third in Melbourne.

In addition to Australia and New Zealand, where the company is headquartered, it operates in Malaysia and the Philippines.

“We’re delighted to expand our footprint in Victoria, which is a thriving part of Datacom,” Datacom Group CEO Jonathan Ladd said in a statement.

“I am especially proud of the team we have assembled in Victoria,” said Scott Green, director of Datacom Systems Victoria.

“Our success is in no small part due to their hard work and expertise. We will continue to grow by focusing on the state government sector, and across the banking and financial services industries, health, transport and logistics.

“Victoria is a great place to do business, and we thank the state government for their support.”

The company reported revenue of NZ$937 in the last financial year, representing growth of 6.3 per cent on the previous year's revenue of $881m.
