Optus introduces white-label SDN service

Launches Optus Cloud-N at Equinix data centres

Optus will offer a white-label software-defined networking (SDN) service to customers of its wholesale arm, the telco announced today.

“Optus Cloud-N is a white label solution and allows partners to rebrand the SDN service as their own and resell it using their retail rates,” said Optus Wholesale’s head of marketing and strategy, John Castro. “The portal can be accessed from any device via the Internet.”

“The service combines our 100Gbps network capability together with the investments Optus has made in Data Centre infrastructure and is in response to customers asking for pay-as-you-go services,” Castro said.

The service will make it easier for the telco’s customers to quickly launch and when necessary turn down network services, he added. Traffic grade mix can be adjusted through a white label portal offering.

Cloud-N is being offered at Equinix data centres in Sydney and Melbourne, Optus said. The telco said it planned to offer the service at “other major data centres” later this year.
