Former CareerOne CEO Karen Lawson has taken on the newly created chief executive role at corporate startup accelerator Slingshot.
Lawson joined Slingshot in March, serving as the company’s head of innovation for its scaleup program. The Slingshot CEO left CareerOne in March last year.
“Slingshot plays a unique role in helping corporates innovate,” Lawson said in a statement.
“Driving transformation is extremely challenging. It starts with us building the innovation capital within a business. Startups bring ideas, corporates bring scale. Enabling collaboration between these huge forces in our economy is how we turn ideas into impact, on a global scale.”
More than 50 startups have participated in Slingshot’s programs, according to the accelerator. Slingshot has worked with a range of large enterprises including NRMA, ING Direct, HCF and Simplot.
