Avaya poaches Truphone MD to head ANZ operations

Avaya appoints third MD in less than three years

Former Truphone managing director Peter Chidiac will lead Avaya’s Australia and New Zealand operations, the communications vendor announced today.

Chidiac will be the company’s third ANZ managing director in less than three years. His predecessor, Jeff Sheard, left the company in February having only joined it in June 2015 following the departure of Tony Simonsen. Simonsen was in the MD role for just over a year.

Prior to Truphone, Chidiac was CEO at Veridian Solutions.

“Over the last 12 months Avaya identified key changes that needed to be made in A/NZ to deliver true digital transformations to our customers,” Avaya International president Nidal Abou-Ltaif said in a statement.

“Having executed on these, we now hand over to Peter to carry that success into the next year and beyond. Peter has been at the forefront of the digital shift and his experience places Avaya A/NZ in an ideal position to maintain its leadership in contextual communications solutions.”
