Former Newcrest Mining chief information officer Carl Duckinson has been recruited by engineering company Aurecon. Duckinson’s role as Aurecon CIO commenced this month.
Duckinson replaces Sean Elwick, who joined the company in 2012.
Duckinson was most recently interim chief information officer at logistics provider Toll Group, stepping into the role after the departure in March of John Ansley. Duckinson originally joined Toll in early 2015 to aid with a transformation program.
Toll in July announced it had recruited Françoise Russo to fill the CIO role in an ongoing capacity.
“I am delighted to welcome Carl Duckinson to lead our IT team globally and to continue to drive digital and technology transformation within the firm,” Aurecon global CFO, Andrew Muller, said in a statement.
“Information technology is a key enabler for Aurecon as it is fundamental to the successful execution of our business strategy, particularly in relation to Aurecon’s commitment to global collaboration and work-sharing.”
In October last year Aurecon announced the appointment of former Arup digital innovation leader Dr Andrew Maher to the position of chief digital officer.
Aurecon also has a chief innovation officer, John McGuire, who joined the company in 2013.

“My role will be to continue to support strong cross-border collaboration to ensure that the business is able to respond to rapid change within the energy and resources, built environment and infrastructure industries.”
