Ex-Western Water CIO takes international role at Hassell

Rebecca Brockett joins design firm

The former chief information officer of Western Water in Victoria has joined design firm Hassell.

Rebecca Brockett began her new role in August. Brockett has been appointed head of technology at Hassell, with global responsibility for IT at the international architecture company.

In addition to its five Australian offices, the organisation has studios in China, including Hong Kong, Singapore and the UK. Brockett will be based in Melbourne.

“Hassell is an international design practice with variety of complex technologies and digital requirements and I’m excited to work with existing teams to help the business excel in these areas,” Brockett said.

Brockett was at Western Water for just over a year, joining the organisation in June 2015.

Prior to her work at the utility, which provides water and sewerage services to people in Sunbury, Melton, Bacchus Marsh and the Macedon Ranges, she was CIO at Grocon for almost four years.

Western Water is currently seeking a replacement for Brockett.
