Complex solution drives WebCentral growth

Increased interest in its managed exchange solution and growth in its Complex division has helped Brisbane-based WebCentral to post a 22 per cent growth in revenues for the second half of 2002.

Total revenues of $12.8 million produced an after tax profit of $609,000. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose by 41 per cent to $2.65 million from the same period in 2001.

WebCentral CEO, Lloyd Ernst, said 200 companies took up the Managed Microsoft Exchange Server during the period and predicted WebCentral Complex, which was launched in June, would account for 28 per cent of the companies business by the end of the current financial year.

“The lead times are longer than we thought but we are putting more and more resources behind the Complex business,” he said. “It has broad market appeal with government departments and large corporate organisations. Larger deals will be finalised in the next six months and growth will continue, even though we are coming off a higher base.”
