Lucent Technologies Inc. Thursday announced changes to the management of its financial operations.
The changes come in the form of two promotions. First, Mark White, currently Lucent's vice president of planning and business analysis, has been promoted to senior vice president and corporate controller. White will be replacing Jim Lusk, Lucent's current senior vice president and corporate controller, who will be taking over the presidency of the business services unit, the company announced in a statement issued Thursday.
White's new responsibilities will include overseeing corporate finance, accounting, planning and business analysis, as well as the financial states of product units, worldwide marketing, sales and services support. Lusk, in turn, will head a newly-created organization which will manage the company's financial processes.
Lucent made the move as an attempt to continue its long-term growth and profitability, according to the company statement. Part of this plan has involved extensive reorganization within the company. In late October, along with a broader executive reshuffling, Lucent's previous Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rich McGinn, was fired and replaced by Henry Schacht.
