New CRM, Other Functions Added to PeopleSoft 8

PeopleSoft Monday announced a host of new additions to its flagship PeopleSoft 8 suite, including new customer relationship management (CRM) applications and a portal feature that was designed to improve relationships with customers.

The new features were announced today at the company's annual User Conference in Los Angeles.

PeopleSoft 8 CRM will include integrated analysis tools to help users get data on online customer behavior and business operations and an application to allow cell phone connectivity for sales automation tasks, including contact management and planning. The product integrates the company's CRM and supply-chain applications and adds new features as well.

The new PS8 CRM application is scheduled to ship in the second quarter of 2001, according to the company.

The new PS8 Customer Portal application is scheduled to be available in December. The company says it will give users the ability to simplify customer management and reduce order service costs.

In other news, the company announced a planned launch early next year of PeopleSoft MarketPay, a new financial settlement system for business-to-business trading exchanges to automate online transactions. The new application will be based on PeopleSoft financial applications, according to the company.

The latest version of PeopleSoft 8 was announced last July.
