BMC Software Inc. launched three storage management products: Patrol Storage Resource Manager, support for file servers from Network Appliance, and LAN-free backup of Oracle Corp. databases. Patrol Storage Resource Manager, formerly known as Resolve Storage Resource Manager, now includes reporting and a simplified installation process, as well as support for Windows NT, Unix and IBM Corp.'s OS/390. Patrol for Network Appliance Filers monitors the performance, availability and reliability of network-attached storage devices and provides notification when trouble occurs. LAN-free backup in Patrol Recovery for Oracle now recognizes storage-area network devices and offers faster data recovery capability. All products are available now starting at $675.
