Sydney Reseller Portable Computer Systems has developed a Corporate Rental Package for its Toshiba laptops to encourage Sydney office workers to telework from home.
Portable Computer Systems is offering corporates and SME's a choice of notebooks from Toshiba's Satellite, Portégé and Tecra ranges in a variety of combinations, ranging from those necessary for high-end computing down to those workers who simply need word processing and an Internet connection.
Jonathan Stowe, rentals account manager for Portable Computer Systems, says that the scheme has proven successful after the first few days of competition.
"Basically, we're offering specially packaged hire services to enable people to telework from home," he said. "The idea is to get people off the roads, let them enjoy the Olympics but still keep in touch with the office."
"It's certainly been popular," he said. "We have has some interest from large corporates and to a lesser degree, individuals from small businesses."
