Network Appliances acquires WebManage Technologies

Internet caching and storage networking company Network Appliance has acquired content management, distribution and analysis software developer WebManage Technologies to develop content analysis and delivery solutions for "all points of the network."

The $US75 million stock and cash deal is aimed at service providers, according to Dan Warmenhoven, CEO of Network Appliance. The dual-offerings would position resellers to build content delivery networks and analysis solutions themselves, thus improving their access to data throughout their networks, he said.

The deal would "redefine" data infrastructure development for the enterprise, Warmohoven claimed.

Network Appliance's local clients include Telstra, National Australia Bank and Cable & Wireless Optus.
