Remedy Corp. Re-Tools Its SetUp@Work Application

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA (08/09/2000) - Remedy Corp. Tuesday said it has re-tooled SetUp@Work, its Web-based application for recording and managing IT and space requirements as employees move to different locations.

Remedy released the first version of SetUp@Work last fall, but slow adoption of it by corporations has spurred Remedy to redesign it, releasing Version 1.1 this week. According to Remedy Senior Product Manager Bob Keane, the latest version provides a more flexible way to keep track of employees, their location and IT needs, such as computers, networks and passwords.

"We now let you keep track of task assignments based on sites rather than the individual," said Keane, referring to the SetUp@Work Web-based application, which runs on either NT or Solaris. The latest version also lets the manager create "task dependencies" to ensure that specific IT tasks are carried out in a particular order.

Remedy has integrated the SetUp@Work application into its flagship product, the Remedy Strategic Service Suite for helpdesk and asset management. This integration enables an addition made to SetUp@Work to be sent directly to Remedy's Help Desk module, for example.

SetUp@Work starts at $70,000.
