USInternetworking Gets New CEO

FRAMINGHAM (07/25/2000) - USinternetworking Inc. has announced that Christopher McCleary is stepping down as CEO, but will continue as the application service provider's chairman of the board of directors.

USinternetworking's board of directors last week named Andrew Stern as the company's new CEO. Stern was executive vice president and chief operating officer. Stern joined USinternetworking in 1998 as chief financial officer and saw the company through its initial public offering less than a year later.

McCleary, one of USinternetworking's cofounders, will act as chairman of the ASP's new "Executive Committee." This group, also announced this week, will help USinternetworking's management team examine new business opportunities, McCleary says. But details about the "Executive Committee," such as the other members, are not yet available.
