Dell Computer has announced that it is going online next month with its first-ever marketplace to help link its customers and suppliers in a business-to-business e-commerce community.
Dell Marketplace will bring together many of Dell's U.S. business customers and suppliers so they can buy and sell to one another, according to a spokesman for the Round Rock, Texas-based firm.
"More and more of our customers are turning to the Internet as a primary channel to purchase the goods and services needed to conduct their businesses," said Joe Marengi, a Dell senior vice president and general manager, in a statement.
The site, www.dellmarketplace.com, will run on an Ariba Inc. B2B Commerce Platform and Microsoft Windows 2000.
More to come.
