Energy company powers up CRM

Electricity and gas supplier TRUenergy has implemented a CRM solution to manage its customer quoting and acquisition system.

The software is a component of vendor SPL's Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) solution and has been customized to TRUenergy's rules and processes. It will be applied to all customer access points; 250 TRUenergy staff can simultaneously access the system.

Following a review of its existing CRM platform, TRUenergy selected SPL over four other vendors because its solution could better integrate with other systems.

TRUenergy's customer service manager, Gene Alessi said ownership costs, flexibility and scalability were all considered during the vendor selection process.

"We liked the fact that the product has a modular architecture and could be configured with our own organization's quoting system while helping us to respond to regulatory and market changes that effect utility rates and pricing," Alessi said.

TRUenergy, which services 1.1 million gas and electricity accounts across Australia, will use SPL to integrate quoting with billing across its entire business, including gas, electricity, and potential non-energy products.
