IBM Corp. and Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP) will launch an online vehicle services scheduling center next quarter, the two firms said yesterday.
The new site, called myautogarage.com, is targeted at new vehicle owners and lease holders. It offers links to the services wings of auto dealers and manufacturers. Site users will be able to schedule service visits, receive quotes for services and view maintenance records on their vehicles.
Through the Web site, vehicle owners receive a customizable home page that contains the configuration of their vehicle, warranty and service records.
Access to the site is free to vehicle owners.
ADP in Roseland, New Jersey, and IBM in Armonk, New York, announced the new site from the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The two firms plan to charge dealers and manufacturers to participate. IBM and ADP have signed AutoNation Inc., a Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based automotive chain with more than 400 dealerships nationwide, to subscribe to the service.
