Oberon Sold for $181M
Oberon Software Inc. in Cambridge, Mass., last week said it's being acquired by OnDisplay Inc., a San Ramon, Calif., software vendor that supports online marketplaces. The stock deal is worth $181 million at current prices and is expected to be completed in March.
Rambus Sues Hitachi
High-speed memory maker Rambus Inc. in Mountain View, Calif., last week filed a lawsuit in U.S. district court accusing Hitachi Ltd. in Tokyo of infringing on patented technology in some of its key semiconductor products. The suit, filed in U.S. Federal District Court in Delaware, seeks to bar Hitachi from manufacturing, selling or importing semiconductor products.
GTE CyberTrust Acquired for $150M
Dublin-based electronic security firm Baltimore Technologies PLC plans to acquire Needham, Mass.-based GTE CyberTrust Solutions Inc. for $150 million.
The acquisition is expected to increase Baltimore's market share in electronic-business and e-commerce security, especially in the public-key infrastructure arena, the company said.
Data Analysis Tool Maker Goes for $126M
Net Perceptions Inc. in Minneapolis last week said it had agreed to buy Knowledge Discovery One Inc., an Austin, Texas-based data-analysis tool maker for online and multichanneler retailers. The stock-swap pact is worth about $126.4 million. Net Perceptions makes real-time personalization products, including technology that can recommend consumer purchases.
