FRAMINGHAM (03/09/2000) - E-commerce system providers Commerce One Inc. and InterWorld Corp. last week formed a partnership to help businesses set up buying and selling marketplaces over the Internet. Commerce One, a provider of Internet-based software systems for corporate purchasing portals, and InterWorld, a vendor of software and services for online business sales, said they plan to develop applications for businesses to use over Commerce One's MarketSite Global Trading Portal, an online exchange. The companies plan to have products available for sale within four months.

A Danish company is looking to break into the U.S. corporate IT market with the release of a new search engine technology that can search documents written in 10 languages. MondoSoft's MondoSearch software remotely indexes and categorizes information in a central location. MondoSearch bases the categorization on XML and metatags or on the underlying structure of the Web site. For those interested in bringing the Windows NT-based technology in-house, the price starts at $800 per month for 1,000 pages.
