SAN FRANCISCO (04/21/2000) - Due to a reporting error, the story published April 20, entitled "Compaq Lays Off 450 Staff in Ongoing Restructuring," incorrectly reported the name of the division from which Compaq Computer Corp. cut jobs. The correct name of the Compaq division is the Commercial PC Group, not the Consumer PC Group as originally reported. The error has been corrected on the wire.
