Symantec and Brightmail will partner to provide ISPs (Internet service providers) and ASPs (application service providers) with an integrated anti-virus and anti-spam solution, the companies announced yesterday.
The companies are integrating Symantec's anti-virus technology with Brightmail's anti-spam services in a package designed to reduce the costs to ASPs and ISPs, as well as allowing them to offer corporations and consumers e-mail protection and filtering packages, according to a statement from the companies.
The combined technology is designed to be invisible to the end user, with unsolicited e-mail and viruses being filtered out before they even enter the user's inbox.
The integrated software is expected to be available to ISPs and ASPs late this quarter.
Pricing information was not immediately available.
