Honeywell opens new R&D centre

Honeywell officially opened its new Pacific headquarters and research and development centre in the Sydney suburb of North Ryde last week.

The new complex is home to a wide range of Honeywell operations, including the new Pacific headquarters for automation and control solutions, Honeywell's software centre and customer care operations.

NSW Transport Minister and Member for Ryde John Watkins opened the new headquarters which employs 130 software engineers.

Honeywell first began local software operations in Sydney in 1984 and has been developing control systems for global oil, gas and resource companies.

The company now has 1200 employees throughout Australia and New Zealand as well as an established graduate recruitment program.

Honeywell customers include Sydney Airport and Australia's Parliament House, where a Honeywell system controls the security, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and fire system.
