In Australia, Alstom has eight divisions with annual sales approaching $500 million.

Alstom IT positions itself as a value-added distributor and has sole distribution rights for Sun and Sun Software as well as NEC servers. It also runs an integration and configuration centre for Sun software which is then shipped directly to customers after being ordered by resellers.

NEC notebooks and PCs are also a significant part of the Alstom lineup and more recently it has added other big names including HP and Acer.

Alstom claims that its global strength and partner relationships allow it to deliver the best channel programs. With an evolving legacy in network services, its technical support capability is also touted as a benefit to customers with both call centre and on-the-ground specialists at call.
