SNS moves into Internet security with NSG acquisition

Security provider Secure Network Solutions announced on Monday it has completed its acquisition of security consultancy services provider Network Services Group (NSG) for $625,000.

NSG is a business division of Softway, which specialises in Internet, intranet and extranet firewalls and security services.

According to officials, NSG will provide SNS with the ability to offer integrated information security solutions to global enterprises and government agencies, as well as services to expand its Internet-based e-commerce and exports to the Asia-Pacific region.

Officials said SNS is also planning to make a move into the Internet security market with its recent acquisition.

It is believed SNS will retain NSG staff, who will operate as a separate division of the company at the SNS premises in Sydney and Canberra.
