Cognos results boosted by web products

Business intelligence solutions specialist Cognos has reported 36 per cent growth in the Australian market during the three fiscal quarters of last year, ended November 30 1998.

According to Cognos officials growth has been driven by web based based products and increased demand for Business Intelligence licenses.

"[Our] Web products have continued to show dramatic, market-leading growth in this country. Worldwide, 33 per cent of Cognos' Business Intelligence business is coming from our Web-based products - and in Australia the figure is 35 per cent" said Sam Clarke, vice president Asia Pacific, Cognos.

Cognos' worldwide revenue for the third quarter was $US76.3m, a 23 per cent increase over the same period last year.
