Sydney VoIP developer attracts US buyer

US-based VoIP application software developer BroadSoft has acquired Sydney software and multimedia applications firm Carbon Twelve and will integrate its client software applications into the BroadWorks VoIP application product line.
BroadSoft CEO and president Michael Tessler, said the acquisition is a key component of BroadSoft's initiative to expand its portfolio.
The software from Carbon Twelve includes an integrated toolbar that enables users to make and accept telephone calls and manage preferences within Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer, as well as a console for receptionists.
George Lawson, CEO of Carbon Twelve, said: "This acquisition validates our business strategy and realizes our vision, which has been to invest heavily in developing world-class applications for the BroadWorks platform, which have been deployed be service providers around the world."
