Kaz picks up $3m dual-state health care deal

Telstra subsidiary KAZ today announced a $3 million, three-year managed IT services contract with St John of God Health Care.

The deal covers server hosting and business service continuity for its operations in Victoria and Western Australia.

KAZ CEO Mike Foster said the deal combines KAZ's staff, processes, infrastructure and technology, with Telstra's strong networking capability.

The contract also involves hosting and managing the group's production facilities in Melbourne and Perth, with the long-term objective of an automatic fail over from one site to the other in the event of any major outage.

St John of God Health Care's group CIO Dr Michael Stanford, said the group would benefit from having the two, high-quality data centres, with comprehensive business service continuity and communication links.

St John of God Health Care is Australia's third largest private hospital operator with revenue of $560 million.
