Acer showed off two of its newest products on Friday, and said they'd be on global markets soon.

The Acer Aspire 1820PT, a small, thin laptop with an 11.6-inch touchscreen that can swivel and fold down over the keyboard to allow it to be used as a tablet PC, will cost between US$600 and $700 and be out in time for Christmas, an Acer representative said.

The light laptop can be used for as long as 8 hours before needing a recharge, according to Acer.

It has an Intel Core 2 Duo ultra low voltage microprocessor inside and uses Windows 7.

Acer's new Liquid smartphone, which uses Google's Android mobile operating system, will be available around the end of November, a company spokeswoman said.

The Taiwanese PC vendor said earlier this month that the 3.5-inch touchscreen device uses a Qualcomm 8250 Snapdragon chipset with a 768MHz processing core.

Liquid uses version 1.6 of Google's Android mobile operating system.

It is 115 millimeters long, 62.5mm wide and 12.5mm thick, and has a 5-megapixel camera on board.
