Powerlan executes Philippines contract

Powerlan's (ASX:PWR) telecom operational management subsidiary, Clarity, has completed the initial stage of a system migration for the Philippines' PLDT

Powerlan (ASX:PWR) subsidiary Clarity has revealed it has implemented its operational support system (OSS) platform for a Filipino mobile operator.

Clarity, which provides telecommunications operational management systems, said it had completed the initial migration of PLDT's legacy systems to a next-gen OSS platform.

Currently exchanges in the Bulacan province have been migrated to the new support system platform, as part of a contract won in 2010.

The migration of master addresses from four different legacy systems to the Clarity platform had been completed in a preliminary phase of the contract completed in November.

Clarity is a self-contained subsidiary of specialist IT product and service provider Powerlan.

Powerlan is currently fielding an $8.4 million buyout offer for its two other operating subsidiaries, ConverterTechnology and IMX.

Powerlan has provisionally endorsed the offer, even after the price was cut from $8.8 million due to the strong Australian dollar.

PWR shares fell 12 per cent on Tuesday to $0.022.
