Older tech workers feel discriminated against

More than two-thirds of US technical professionals over the age of 45 say that age discrimination is a prevalent problem in the technology world. A survey conducted by techies.com has found that most tech workers aged between 45 and 64 believed that older workers in their industry were more likely to be discriminated against by younger workers. Specifically, this group said that management were less likely to promote older workers and that older workers were trained in older technologies that were required less often.

On the other hand, fewer than a third of tech workers under the age of 35 believed "age bias" was a problem in the workplace. If age discrimination did happen, however, nearly 75 per cent of those aged between 18 and 34 felt that younger workers were more likely to be discriminated against.
