Service Stream's NBN connection contract renewed

NBN Co has renewed its field services delivery contract with Service Stream, the National Broadband Network construction partner announced this morning.

The contract covers installing the NBN's Optical Network Terminal in premises and connecting buildings to the network.

The contract, which covers the Northern Territory, NSW, South Australia, Victoria and WA, is worth some $140 million over two-years, according to Service Stream. The contract includes two one-year extension options.

"NBN Co is working with Service Stream and its other delivery partners to improve the connection process by more closely coordinating the installation of equipment in the home with the rollout of the cables in the street," a statement by NBN Co said.

In May Service Stream inked a contract renewal with the government-owned company charged with rolling out the National Broadband Network. That contract renewal, covering design construction of fibre in greenfield estates is worth at least $70 million over two years.

Also in May NBN Co renewed a greenfields contract with Visionstream. That contract renewal was worth $90 million.
