Adobe Australia and New Zealand head of digital media Chris Skelton has been promoted to A/NZ managing director.

Skelton will be based in Sydney. He replaces former A/NZ managing director Paul Robson, who was appointed to Adobe Asia Pacific president in June 2014 after Craig Tegel decided to leave the vendor on 1 July.

Skelton joined the vendor in 2012. Prior to arriving at Adobe, he was A/NZ regional director at software reseller Insight for three years.

According to Skelton, Adobe A/NZ has “doubled” its staff numbers over the past three years. It now has approximately 220 staff across A/NZ.

“We’ve established a centre of excellence in Sydney to drive enterprise sales across Asia, and we’re also a pilot region to test new innovation for the company globally,” he said in a statement.

In May 2013, Adobe announced a major shift in its software strategy, revealing that Adobe CS 6 would be the final boxed version of its major design, publishing and photography products. Instead, the vendor is now focusing on delivering regular updates to its subscription-based Creative Cloud versions of popular applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
