Google's #1 position returns tech to the top of the rankings, which last year were led by financial firm Bain. Facebook was #1 in 2012.

The winners were determined based on employee feedback shared on Glassdoor via an onlineĀ company review survey. Factors include work-life balance, compensation and career advancement opportunities.

Among Google's reviews:

*"If you're a software engineer, you're among the kings of the hill at Google. It's an engineer-driven company without a doubt (that *is* changing, but it's still very engineer-focused)."

*"It's the best place I've worked. Absolutely no doubt about that. High pay as a temp software engineer. Awesome software development tools. Fewer difficult prima donnas than you might expect for such an elite company. In fact my department had none."

Google employs more than 50,000 people around the world, and many have been known to rave about company perks, not the least of which is free food.

One other tech company cracked the Top 10, at #4: Seattle-based application delivery network products providerĀ F5 Networks.
